How to Control Apparel Cut Bundles and Shade Segregation Before Sewing

1. Define the bundle scope and production route

Name the buyer, order, style, colorway, destination, size range, delivery split, pattern revision, marker revision, material code, fabric lot or shade group, lay number, cutting date, and intended sewing line or production route. Define what one bundle represents: a fixed number of complete garments, one size within a lay, one component family, paired panels, a shade group, or another controlled unit. 2. Build a bundle ticket that preserves product identity

Use readable text and a barcode or digital reference only where the production system supports it; the physical bundle should not become unidentifiable when a device or label is unavailable.

3. Segregate fabric lots, shade groups, and garment-facing pairs

Carry the approved fabric roll, lot, and shade grouping from spreading into each cut bundle. Keep visually related garment panels within the same permitted group, especially fronts, backs, sleeves, collars, hoods, pocket parts, facings, cuffs, waistbands, and left-right pairs that meet in the finished garment. Mark the face and orientation where surface direction, coating, nap, pile, print, wash response, or light reflection can change appearance.

Confirm style, size, material, piece name, code, cut quantity, left-right requirement, mirrored or face status, notches, drill points, internal marks, and any size-specific or colorway-specific component. Count pieces using a method suitable for the material and bundle size, then record the result rather than relying on the expected marker count alone.

Check that small pieces, pockets, welts, flaps, guards, tabs, reinforcements, bindings, contrast panels, linings, and interlinings have not been omitted, doubled, placed in the wrong size, or attached to another shade group. Protect notches, edges, surface finish, print placement, and fragile shapes during stacking and tying. Separate incomplete bundles with a hold status and a visible missing-piece record before they enter sewing.

7. Verify the bundle at sewing receipt and line input

At sewing receipt, check the physical ticket against the transfer record and bundle contents. Confirm style, colorway, size, shade group, lay or source, quantity, panel set, separate components, status, and visible condition. Record shortages, extra pieces, mixed identities, damaged edges, lost notches, surface marks, or unclear tickets before the bundle is distributed across operations.
